What is the Color Wheel Spinner?
This color wheel spinner picks a random color when you click Spin. It comes loaded with 20 colors from red to lavender, but you can edit the list to include any colors you want.
It runs in your browser. No app to install, no account needed. The wheel uses the same cryptographic randomness as every other spinner on this site, so each color has an equal shot.
How to use it
Hit Spin and wait for the wheel to stop. That's the color you got. You can remove colors you don't want from the entry panel on the right, or add new ones.
If you want just primary colors, delete everything except red, blue, and yellow. Need pastels? Replace the defaults with your own list. The wheel saves your changes in your browser so they'll be there next time.

When a random color is useful
Art teachers use it for classroom exercises - give each student a random color to build a painting around. Game nights benefit too: assign team colors randomly instead of arguing about who gets blue.

Customizing the wheel
You can switch between five visual themes in the settings panel. The neon theme works well for colors because the segments are already bright. Monochrome keeps it neutral if the color names matter more than the wheel's appearance.
Spin speed is adjustable. Fast mode takes about 1.5 seconds, normal takes 3, and slow takes 5. Sound effects and confetti can be toggled off if you're using it in a quiet setting.

How many colors are on the wheel by default?
The wheel starts with 20 colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, white, cyan, magenta, lime, teal, indigo, gold, silver, navy, coral, and lavender.
Can I add custom colors?
Yes. Type any color name into the entry input and click Add. You can also edit or delete existing entries.
Is each color equally likely to be picked?
Yes. The winner is chosen using crypto.getRandomValues() before the spin starts. Every entry has an equal probability regardless of its position.
Does it save my custom colors?
Yes. Your color list is saved in your browser's local storage. It'll be there when you come back unless you clear your browser data.
Can I use this on a phone?
Yes. The wheel is fully responsive. On smaller screens it stacks vertically with the wheel on top and the entry list below.
